Every bike in this collection is built to be ridden on UK roads and cycle paths with no tax, no insurance, no licence and no number plate. Each one has a motor rated at 250 watts and assistance that stops at 15.5 miles per hour, which is exactly what UK law asks of an electrically assisted pedal cycle. Anyone aged 14 or over can ride one.

You still get the help where you want it. The motor flattens hills, shortens a commute and takes the sting out of a headwind, and you keep the freedom of an ordinary bicycle — no paperwork, no plates, and every cycle path and bridleway still open to you.

Every bike in this collection can be bought through the Cycle to Work scheme, spreading the cost through your employer straight out of your salary. About UK electric bike law

To the best of our knowledge every bike in this collection meets the UK's Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle rules: a motor rated at no more than 250 watts, assistance that cuts out at 15.5 miles per hour, and pedals that must be turning for the motor to help.

Elsewhere on this website we also sell bikes with more powerful motors or higher assisted speeds, and those are not road legal in the UK. A bike above 250 watts or above 15.5 miles per hour may only be ridden off road, on private land where you have the owner's permission. To use one on a public road you would first need type approval, tax, insurance, a number plate and an MOT, and obtaining all of those is the rider's responsibility rather than ours.
