The right size e-bike is comfortable, confident and easy to control; the wrong one aches and puts you off riding. Sizing is simpler than it looks — start with your height, then fine-tune the saddle. Here is the chart and the checks.
Match the frame size to your height using the chart below, then set your saddle height so your leg is almost straight at the bottom of the pedal stroke. If you are between sizes or have any mobility concerns, size down or choose a step-through frame.
Frame size by height
| Your height | Suggested frame |
|---|---|
| 4'10" – 5'2" | 13" – 14" (XS) |
| 5'2" – 5'6" | 15" – 16" (S) |
| 5'6" – 5'10" | 17" – 18" (M) |
| 5'10" – 6'1" | 19" – 20" (L) |
| 6'1" – 6'4" | 21" – 22" (XL) |
Charts are a starting point — frame geometry varies by model, so use it as a guide, not gospel.
Step-through or step-over?
A step-through frame (low or no top tube) is easier to get on and off, kinder to hips and knees, and ideal for shorter riders, reduced mobility, or riding in everyday clothes. A step-over frame is stiffer and a touch sportier. Comfort beats image — pick what you will actually enjoy riding.
Setting your saddle height
Sit on the saddle with a heel on the pedal at its lowest point: your leg should be almost straight. When you pedal normally (ball of the foot), that gives a slight, healthy knee bend — efficient and easy on the joints. Too low aches the knees; too high rocks the hips.
Always take a test ride
Whenever you can, take a test ride — it is the fastest way to know a bike fits and rides the way you want. Reach to the bars, stand-over clearance and saddle comfort are all easier to feel than to measure.

Frequently asked questions
What size e-bike do I need for my height?
Use the chart above: for example, a 5'8" rider suits a 17–18" (M) frame. Frame geometry varies, so treat it as a starting point and confirm with a test ride.
Should I size up or down if I am between sizes?
Size down for easier handling and stand-over clearance — you can raise the saddle and bars to add reach. Sizing up is harder to correct.
Is a step-through e-bike right for me?
If you value easy mounting, comfort, or have any hip or knee concerns, yes — step-through frames are easier and just as capable for everyday riding.
